This very small wall hanging incorporates two rectangles knitted from cotton and rayon fabric yarns made from salvaged, laundered clothing and a worn-out vintage rug. The pink rug yarns were laundered after I disassembled the rug and the small, darker rectangle was over-dyed with natural walnut dye from collected walnut husks after It was knitted but before the machine stitching embellishment was added. The piece also incorporates a well-patinated piece of found copper tubing and peeled and sanded sticks. It measures approximately 4” x 5” and it can be hung by the knot on a small nail (not included).
